Newspaper Article Reworked

Editor As Author

I thoroughly enjoyed this project and had a prominent input into this paired work. For this “Editor as Author” workshop we were working towards illustrating a visual narrative so in future (or for our ZINE project) we understand how presentation can convey meaning. Therefore using the news article in an ambiguous manner, although it was a very famous event, the birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby Archie, to allow for the reader to make up their own narrative or to allow the story to be open to interpretation. It was teaching us how to organise visual research in the methodology of a photo-book. Photo-book meaning that the message is carried through imagery. I then proceed to scan in the book to get the highest pixels possible so that if I choose to use it in the future its the best quality.

Methods we used to manipulate the article we had was enlarging and reducing the sizes of the images, cutting them out and faceting them on the page. As well as layering, folding and multiplying the same image. I am relatively happy with the outcome from this project again, perhaps in future could stick things down more carefully to avoid exposed glue which picks up dirt and sticks together.
